Artists recognized through Spotify’s initiative supporting emerging independent artists
NRT Music celebrates a significant milestone as six artists from its growing roster were selected for Spotify’s Fresh Finds Forward program, a new initiative designed to champion emerging independent artists and provide resources to help build sustainable music careers.
HOMECOMING, Josh Grove, SAPHIRE, Zane Walls, The Slower I Go, and Bailey Thompson are among the artists recognized through the program, highlighting the exceptional talent and creative diversity represented across the NRT Music roster.
Launched in September 2026, Spotify’s Fresh Finds Forward builds upon its established Fresh Finds editorial playlist program, which has helped more than 80,000 artists across 127 countries connect with new listeners. The expanded initiative aims to support approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists annually, offering access to professional development opportunities, industry connections, creative resources, and tools designed to turn early momentum into long-term career growth.
For NRT Music, the recognition reflects the young label’s ongoing commitment to discovering, developing, and championing independent Christian artists. Since launching in 2024, NRT Music has grown to represent more than 35 artists across contemporary Christian music, worship, pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and other genres, giving emerging voices opportunities to reach audiences worldwide.
“We have been incredibly blessed to work with some amazing artists early in their careers,” shares Kevin McNeese, Founder of NRT Music. “Developing strong artists is one of the reasons NRT Music exists, and these six artists represent that commitment so well. We love every artist on our roster and believe they’re all Fresh Finds worth discovering! We’re thrilled to celebrate this recognition alongside HOMECOMING, Josh Grove, SAPHIRE, Zane Walls, The Slower I Go, and Bailey Thompson, while continuing to champion the incredible talent across our entire label family.”
Spotify’s Fresh Finds initiative has become an important discovery platform for independent musicians. According to Spotify, its Fresh Finds playlists have generated more than 128 million new artist discoveries since 2024, with nearly 70 percent of playlist streams coming from listeners hearing an artist for the first time. The program has previously featured emerging talent who went on to achieve widespread success.
The recognition comes during a period of continued growth for NRT Music, which recently celebrated its second anniversary after generating more than six million streams during its second year of operation. Working alongside distribution partner Syntax Creative, the label continues to invest in artist development, strategic promotion, editorial exposure, and opportunities that help independent Christian artists build lasting careers.
NRT Music congratulates HOMECOMING, Josh Grove, SAPHIRE, Zane Walls, The Slower I Go, and Bailey Thompson on this exciting recognition and looks forward to supporting their continued growth as they introduce their music to new listeners.
