If you asked three people to define love, you’re bound to get three different answers. Sure, there may be some overlap in the language, but each person will draw on their own experience to articulate what it means. On Aaron Taylor’s new album “Tell Me of Love!,” the British singer-songwriter and producer spends over 30 minutes contemplating the four-letter word.
Taylor balances his deep thoughts with warm, delicate acoustic guitar chords that show up throughout the project. The opener “Lost” is a plea not to get caught up in the smoke and mirrors around him. “I don’t wanna be lost / Stuck inside a future unknown,” he croons. As Taylor put it, “‘Lost’ is essentially about not wanting to lose ourselves and our souls in a world that isn’t real anymore. For me, it set the tone of the album and the new direction I wanted to take.”
On “Lifeline,” Taylor expresses gratitude to someone who saved him from falling into flames. “You came and pulled me from the fire / You are the reason that I’ll be fine,” he sings. Even when love shows up, it is not without its storms. “Changing Weather” addresses the temperature drop between two partners, understanding that “the sun will shine again.”
Meanwhile, “Talk To Me Nicely” acknowledges the static in communication and attempts to repair the connection. The penultimate ballad, “Better,” finds Taylor grappling with the bittersweet feeling of losing love and feeling a weight lifted: “Why am I stronger without you? / The burden has finally eased.”

With “Tell Me of Love!” Taylor doesn’t pretend to have all the answers. Instead, he treats love as an ongoing experiment. As he sings on the closer “My Hope”: “I am sowing seeds for tomorrow / Even if I am not here to watch them grow.”
Speaking on his new album, Taylor tells Rated R&B, “‘Tell Me of Love!’ is my seventh project and comes ten years into my artist journey. It feels the most personal, and I would say has the most of me within it, particularly where I’m at in life now as a family man, and also as an artist within an ever-changing industry and world. I’m very proud of it and believe it showcases some of my best songwriting to date.”
He adds, “The concept revolves around life and love, but particularly how I would attempt to describe them to someone who had never experienced them like we do. I wanted to explore what it means to feel what we feel, and each song explores topics I believe are common and universal to us all.”
“Tell Me of Love!” is Taylor’s fourth project of the 2020s, following Yours Always (2025), Have A Nice Day! (2025) and ICARUS (2021).
