The song emerged during a period of profound personal loss following the passing of his father. What began as personal encouragement gradually became a song with a message intended to reach far beyond his own experience. “After my father passed, I was in a sad place. I felt this song came from God to help me heal. Sometimes you have to declare, ‘It’s gonna be a good day,’ before the good part even happens. I needed to say it for myself, and now I want other people to be able to make that declaration too.” That sense of purpose sits at the heart of the recording.
