Reacher Season 4 finale finally gave Jack Reacher a fight he almost couldn’t win. The show’s bloodiest episode revealed why Lila Hoth proved far more dangerous than any opponent, including Paulie, that Reacher has faced before.
Reacher Season 4 finale shows Lila was really Jack’s toughest foe yet
Reacher Season 4 finale proves Lila Hoth pushed Jack Reacher closer to death than any previous villain. The two-on-one knife fight with Lila and Amisha left Reacher barely conscious from massive blood loss. The trained assassins sliced chunks of his flesh off throughout their brutal confrontation.
Lila and Amisha’s smaller, more nimble fighting style created serious problems for the much larger Reacher. The women swarmed him with blades and kept cutting him repeatedly during the extended battle. Amisha even kicked him through a wall before Reacher managed to throw her out a window.
Despite his injuries, Reacher still found a way to defeat Lila in a characteristically brutal fashion. He spotted a syringe containing her own toxin and injected her with it. Lila then told him, “I don’t know what I enjoy more, f—ing you or killing you.” Reacher responded with his own one-liner before watching the toxin kill her slowly.
The finale also revealed just how close Reacher came to dying after the fight. He collapsed outside the restaurant building while clutching the USB drive in his hand. A previous scar on his body actually saved his life by preventing Lila’s knife from penetrating deeper.
Reacher woke up in the hospital three days later, still holding the drive. Tamara made a Jesus joke, noting that nails had punctured both of Reacher’s palms during the fight. Meanwhile, Jacob chose to arrest a surviving Amisha rather than kill her for revenge.
The finale wrapped every storyline neatly before setting up Season 5. Reacher handed the USB drive to Plum and told him to write his story. He then boarded a subway train and shared his Philly cheesesteak with a homeless woman.
