Louis York has a new album coming this fall.
The hit-making duo, consisting of Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, has revealed that their third LP, The Heart of the Matter, will release Nov. 6 via Weirdo Workshop.
Their upcoming album will include the newly shared lead single, “I Found a Home.” Written and produced by Louis York — with additional contributions from Brian Frasier-Moore on drums, Nathan Chapman on bass and Kyle Bolden on guitar — the soulfully resonant track is a love letter to Nashville, where New York native Kelly and St. Louis native Harmony relocated over a decade ago. “I took a winding road to Music City, but I think I’m starting to like this country life,” Kelly sings.
Speaking on “I Found a Home,” Harmony shares, “We’ve dabbled in almost every genre of music as producers and songwriters, but once you sit down to write something for yourself, it can take awhile to find your true voice.
“For us, it was a 10-year process to fully understand that Louis York is two songwriters, two singers, two producers, two creative people who really have something to say about music, spirituality, and manhood. In the past, maybe we were creating music from the head. This time, we were creating from the heart… and that could have only happened in Nashville.”
The Heart of the Matter will follow 2024’s Songs With Friends, their duets album featuring collaborations with Anthony Hamilton, Tamia, PJ Morton, Jessie J and more.
“Songs With Friends was a conversation that me and Claude had like, ‘Yo, we got to move this thing forward outside of being creative guys,” Harmony told Rated R&B. “We got to get in people’s faces. Let’s make a duet album [with] friends that won’t mind collaborating, performing, doing TV performances, [and] the whole nine.”
Before that, Louis York released their debut album, American Griots, in 2019. It included standouts such as “Don’t You Forget” and “No Regrets” featuring The Shindellas.
Aside from Louis York, Kelly and Harmony have been busy writing and producing for other artists. With past credits with Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Fantasia, and Ledisi, among many others, it’s no wonder they remain in demand. Up next is Tamia’s new single “Forever and a Day,” which drops Aug. 28.
