It sometimes seems that people who appear on game shows try to find something to say to make them memorable. However, there are times when what they say doesn’t quite come across the way they might have meant it when they finally say it. That happened on a recent Wheel of Fortune episode, when Ryan Seacrest seemed very confused about a woman’s relationship status.
Here is what the woman said and why Ryan had to ask her to clarify what she was trying to get across.
Wheel Of Fortune Contestant Declares Herself Single
Ryan Seacrest was talking to the new contestants, and he had the pre-decided questions for each contestant. He asked Thomas about his goals and said he wants his grandkids to brag that their grandpa was on Wheel of Fortune. Then, Ryan moved on to Julie, who revealed that she is has celiac and has mastered cooking gluten-free foods that taste great.
However, when Ryan got to Nikki, it was a strange moment. Ryan said that Nikki told him that she wanted her relationship status to be known. That is when she enthusiastically held up her hands and said, “I’m single as a Pringle!”
This confused Ryan, who said that Pringles are all gathered together in a can and are not single at all. This didn’t faze Nikki, who just laughed about it and then explained that she was an interior designer for fish. This seemed to confuse Ryan even further.
Now, “single as a Pringle” is actually a used expression that people use to explain that they are single. The quote is used because Pringles are jammed together in a can, but they are easy to separate despite being stacked together for so long.
Sadly for Nikki, she wasn’t able to win the game.
Who Won This Wheel Of Fortune Game?
While Nikki was happy to be “single as a Pringle” on Wheel of Fortune, she wasn’t as happy at the end. She ended up losing to Julie, the Celiac who loves to cook. However, Julie went home very happy because she won the bonus round for a big prize (via Wheel of Fortune Tonight).
Julie Allen, a third-grade teacher from Spokane, Washington, said that she watched Wheel of Fortune every night during her maternity leave, and it got her through that part of her life. She ended up taking that experience in and winning this game, with $25,590 during the gameplay, compared to Thomas, who won $10,600, and Nikki, who only won $1,000.
That led to the bonus puzzle, which was “What are you doing?” After the given letters (R, S, T, L, N, and E), Allen chose “G, D, H, and I.” This led to the board reading, “_EING _ _ ITE _ITT_.” Ryan got ready to say she had 10 seconds to figure it out, but she quickly said, “Being Quite Witty.” One second had ticked off the clock.
Julie won a Ford Bronco.
