Coco Jones has shared a music video for “Caliber,” the first single from her forthcoming untitled EP. Teyana Taylor, known as Spike Tee, directed the video in production with The Aunties.
In the visual, Jones enters a lavish lounge with a gentleman (portrayed by actor Deric Augustine) that turns out to be the bartender. Before he exits the vehicle they both arrived in, he puts in contacts, which act as a defensive mechanism later in the clip.
Using vision enhancement, Jones thoroughly scopes the establishment for prospects who match the profile she outlines in the song’s lyrics.
She runs a scan on the bartender, but he does not come up as a match. She finally comes across a would-be partner but things go awry. Watch the full video below to see how it unfolds.
Discussing the new single and upcoming era, Jones said, “With the release of ‘Caliber,’ I finally feel like I’m able to articulate the core of who I am. My music is a love letter to my journey, and who I’ve become. With the team behind me, there’s nowhere to go but up.”
Jones is crafting her debut project with big names including Bryan-Michael Cox, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Camper, Eric Hudson and Bongo ByTheWay. The last two mentioned produced “Caliber.”
The future EP is expected to arrive sometime later this year via High Standardz/Def Jam Recordings.
In other news, Jones stars as Hilary Banks on Peacock’s hit series Bel-Air.
