Charity Gayle Releases New Worship Album His Name Shall Be — NewReleaseToday

Acclaimed worship leader, artist and songwriter Charity Gayle releases her highly anticipated album, His Name Shall Be, today. The 13-track project combines powerful original worship songs with reimagined Christmas classics, inviting listeners to celebrate the birth of Jesus while reflecting on the deeper meaning of the season.

Produced by Kyle Lee and Ryan Rich, His Name Shall Be captures Gayle’s signature passionate vocals and congregational worship sound, offering a collection of songs centered on the promise of Emmanuel, God with us. Recorded live at Dry Creek Gathering in Magnolia, Texas, with additional recording in Nashville and Houston, the album creates an atmosphere of worship that extends beyond traditional Christmas music.

“His Name Shall Be is such a special album to me, and truly my favorite record I’ve ever made,” shares Gayle. “My heart behind this project was to create a Christmas worship album that reminds us of the real reason we celebrate – Jesus, the promise fulfilled, Emmanuel, God with us. I believe worship music at Christmas is just as important as any other time of year. We can get so caught up in the festivities of the season that we forget it’s the Spirit of God who draws people to Him.”

She continues, “Christmas is a beautiful time, but it can also be difficult for those walking through grief, loss, or hardship. These songs are a reminder that Jesus came for every one of us, in every season. He is our Wonderful Counselor, our Prince of Peace, and our Everlasting Father. My prayer is that this album brings people back to the joy, peace, and wonder of knowing our Savior has come, and that these songs become declarations of worship not just at Christmas, but all year long.”

The album’s title track, “His Name Shall Be (Isaiah 9),” draws inspiration from the biblical prophecy of Isaiah 9:6, celebrating Jesus as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. The song serves as a centerpiece for the project, emphasizing the message of hope and redemption that runs throughout the album.

Previously released lead single “In The Presence Of The King” invites listeners into a moment of reverence and worship, reflecting on the wonder of Christ’s arrival and the significance of His presence. Written by Gayle alongside Ryan Kennedy, Melanie Slay, Mitch Wong, and Kyle Lee, the song sets the tone for an album designed to move beyond seasonal celebration into a meaningful worship experience.

Other standout tracks include “Repeat The Sounding Joy,” a joyful declaration of Christ’s birth; “Emmanuel,” a reflection on God’s enduring presence throughout history; “What Kind Of God,” which explores the humility and love demonstrated through Jesus’ birth; and “Jesus Is The Reason,” an uplifting celebration of the true source of Christmas joy.

The project also features fresh interpretations of cherished Christmas favorites, including “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come All Ye Faithful (Hallelujah),” “Count Your Blessings (Instead of Sheep),” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Together, the songs create a collection that balances familiar holiday traditions with original expressions of faith and worship.

Known for beloved worship anthems including “I Speak Jesus” and “Thank You Jesus for the Blood,” Gayle has become a leading voice in contemporary worship music, connecting with audiences around the world through songs of faith, hope, and devotion. With His Name Shall Be, she brings that same heart for worship to the Christmas season, creating music intended to resonate with listeners in churches, homes, and gatherings throughout the holidays and beyond.
