The fun part of watching Wheel of Fortune is cheering on players as they try to win big money with challenging puzzles. However, when the puzzles seem almost impossible to guess, it takes a lot of the fun away from the players and the viewers watching at home. That happened this week with a player named Nick Isadori.
Here is a look at his puzzle and how many fans felt it was impossible for him to solve.
Player Loses Heartbreaking $100K Bonus Prize
Nick Isadori, a New Jersey resident, appeared on the Wheel of Fortune last week. He competed against a woman from Kansas and a woman from North Carolina. Nick was on fire in the game, answering the first two puzzles to jump out with a $7.500 total.
One of his opponents then took the lead with the Mystery Round and $15,050. Nick then got the Express Round puzzle for $6,500 more and won a cruise. He then added on with the Triple Toss Up, which gave him $25,000. The third contestant tried a late comeback to move to $14,000, but that wasn’t enough to win.
Nick then got a chance at the Bonus Round. He chose “Place” and then chose the letters “C, P, G, and A” to go with the already given “R, S, T, L, N, and E.” However, the puzzle only read: “C— / —EA-A-.”
Nick had no idea what it was as the final word was “COZY HIDEAWAY.” The only way to have gotten more letters was to choose “Z, Y, H, D, W, and Y.” None of those are letters most people would choose. “I had no shot,” Nick said after the reveal. Ryen then revealed the win would have given him $75,000, which would have made his winnings total $100,000.
Fans Decry ‘Impossible’ Wheel Of Fortune Puzzle
Wheel of Fortune fans at home agreed with the sentiment that this was a puzzle that seemed impossible to solve. Many even felt that the letter options were getting harder as the season wore on.
Here is a look at some of the fans’ comments on the tough loss and what some call an impossible puzzle to solve (via TV Insider):
- “No way I could’ve guessed this.”
- “This was borderline impossible.”
- “These final puzzles lately seem like they give very few starting letters.”
- “It was a hard puzzle to solve.”
It seems that most fans backed up the idea that Ryan had no chance to solve this puzzle, even if he had gotten one or two of the missing letters.
