Finn Wolfhard has been extremely busy this past year. 2021 saw the star wrapping filming on Stranger Things 4 and A24‘s When You Finish Saving The World. Now, Wolfhard is making his directorial debut with the film Hell of a Summer.
In addition to directing, Wolfhard also co-wrote and will star in the upcoming film.

Choosing to stay close to his horror roots, Wolfhard’s movie is being billed as a horror-comedy. There is no news on the film’s plot or tone, but eager fans can check out Wolfhard’s short film, Night Shifts, to get a feel for his writing and directing style.
Wolfhard’s friend and frequent collaborator, Billy Bryk, is also involved with the project. Bryk co-wrote and will direct and star in the film alongside Wolfhard. As of now, the only other known cast member is Fred Hechinger of White Lotus and Fear Street.
“I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film,” Wolfhard said in a statement. “I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30West and Aggregate is a real dream.”
Hell of a Summer is scheduled to start shooting later this July in Ontario, Canada.
