Evin R. Daniels has been a staple in the Southeast Michigan music scene for years. Playing everything from venues to DIY shows to the county fair, his debut LP, Ruby Music, is out on January 17th with a collab release from Head 2 Wall and Setterwind Records.”Can’t Help” is the lead single, and the video matches the songs tenderness. It shows a day caught on camcorder and feels like a relic of lost Americana during the current times; a couple spending time at a carnival with deep fried treats, a petting zoo, and mirrors in a funhouse distorting reality, but only for a moment. The song is ripe in its acoustic strums with harmonies leaping off the vocals, and captures the syrupy sweetness that the blissful joy of spending time with someone special.
From Daniels:
Ruby was my childhood nickname. This record is a collection of songs that touch on different points in my life that all blend together into who I am today. The intention of this record is to take you back to a time and place that feels familiar with each song. This record tells my life in 8 songs; I call it “Ruby Music.”
