Out now, and available to stream and download here, ‘Time Passes’ is the new single from London-based artist, Vianne. Released on the 17th of November, the track was developed during a late-night studio session with producer, Jacob Lobo.
The track skilfully blends live instruments, including keyboards, horns, and flute, in a reflection of the London edge that is characteristic of Vianne’s sound, as it focuses on a period of self-reflection, following a breakup. Vianne took time to focus on her own needs, and her tendency to give, without expecting anything on return; the result her realisation that she herself matters just as much as everyone else. As Vianne found her way through her period of loneliness, she embraced mindfulness, and was able to release the things of the past, without problem. Through her collaboration with Lobo, who she discovered through his group, Geejay, Vianne found the music came naturally, and therefore served as a healing contribution in her self-growth journey.
Vianne took the train daily to Lobo’s studio, using the journey as a reflective time and a source of energy. The pair would then set about a routine of chats over morning coffee, infusing their work with warmth. Multi-instrumentalist Lobo, who plays saxophone, piano, and flute, additionally co-wrote and produced ‘Time Passes’, and his flute solo gives the track a sense of calm, a reflection of the song’s theme of finding quietness amidst mental noise.
Vianne’s hope is that listeners will take comfort and fell supported by the track, with its message of releasing past regrets and future anxieties, and to fully take hold of the certainty of the present and seeing life as it happens, day by day.
‘Time Passes’ provides listeners with a first look at what is to come from Vianne’s upcoming EP, set for release in 2026.
