According to Vedo, R&B is in safe hands, and he proves it with his new single “Face Down,” featuring OG Parker, who also co-produced it.
The sex-positive jam traces back to the early ’90s R&B. Its sound is ultra-sensual, from Vedo’s lustful croons to the erotic production. Vedo is clear about putting his money where his mouth is in the bedroom. His lady may be all talk, but Vedo is all action. He hopes she brings that same big energy to the sheets when he directs her to throw it back.
“You gonna try to run from it, but you gotta stand on it now / I’ma make you take it all this time / When I pin that ass down / You say it’s mine and it’s up to me / Then, girl, this is all that I need,” Vedo sings.
Vedo rolls out a sexy lyric video to coincide with the release of “Face Down.”
Vedo’s new song follows “Bitter (V-Mix),” his re-imagination of Summer Walker’s Still Over It album opener, which featured Cardi B. Two months before that, Vedo issued his latest album, 1320.
The album included features from Ari Lennox, Jacquees, Eric Bellinger, Lloyd, and Erica Banks. It featured previously released tracks “For Me“ and “Yesterday.”
In other news, Vedo has a writing credit on Chris Brown’s brand new album Breezy. He co-wrote “WE (Warm Embrace),“ along with Brown and Don City.
During Juneteenth weekend, Vedo shared the stage with the R&B legend Usher during his set at Pharrell’s Something in the Water Festival. He performed his platinum-selling single “You Got It,” which is closing in at 290 million streams on Spotify.
Vedo will join Usher later this month to sing background with Eric Bellinger during Usher’s NPR Tiny Desk concert.
On Aug. 19, Vedo will appear on Tank’s tenth and final album, R&B Money.
