Vale! ULB is a powerful musical collective representing the Latin diaspora that’s hard to forget and rising heavyweight media love for their recently released debut EP, Colores de Love. The project blends Latin influences, Cuban rhythms, Hip-Hop soul, and New Orleans bounce, creating a distinctive sound they call “Cabana Bounce.” This fresh genre has quickly gained traction on global dance charts, with Colores de Love reaching #18 on iTunes’ daily electronic charts in the Netherlands.
In a collective reflection with The Hype Magazine, the crew talked about the inspiration for the project, saying, “We are all friends, which is the best part. So when we are together we F around and create. We take the multi-generational acts we all love with really high musicality, Black Eyed Peas, No Doubt, Santana, and Stevie Wonder, and pour gumbo all over it. That’s Cabana Bounce. It’s a lifestyle that we interpret through our friendship and music. It’s fun, bouncy, and sexy. It’s all about movement, good energy, and bringing everyone to the dance floor. The blend of Latin influences represents the diaspora and all of its idiosyncrasies. Like the EP title, we all bring different colors of cultures, and this album was made with love.”
The EP, distributed by Bungalo / Universal Music Group, also features a track produced by Alawn, a multi-platinum producer with 30 Billboard #1 chart entries to his name. Alawn’s expertise shines through in this collaboration, adding a polished yet dynamic layer to Vale! ULB’s sound. “Boom Boom (Radio Edit),” another track from the EP, has been making waves on the Independent Airplay Chart (Radio), hitting #6.
In excitement Vale! ULB talks about this particular track: Working with Alawn was an exciting process! His work brought a new life with this song. He has an incredible ear for elevating a track. Combining our musical essences brought another kind of love and sound to the record. The collaboration brought a musical refinement to the fans who, ultimately, the music is for! So, we are very grateful to him.

On their early success on the dance charts, particularly in the Netherlands:
Our music was always intended to be international. Music has no borders. Seeing the good reception feels like a reward for all the work we have been doing for years. We plan to keep being authentic while exploring new sounds that connect with different people. The support from the Netherlands is inspirational, Europe is very important to us and we look forward to getting there!
On the role cultural representation plays in their artistry:
Cultural representation is everything to us. Our music reflects who we are. The natural feel of Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and New Orleans is what drives and inspires us. In our cultures, music is passed on through the generations, and we want to honor that. In terms of evolving, we will continue to let the universe speak to us. We will always experiment with new sounds, but the heart of the music will always be that blend of rhythm, sabor, and storytelling. We want to keep surprising people while staying true to our roots.
