It was recently reported that Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker was hospitalized due to a bout with pancreatitis. Barker is currently staying at one of the best medical centers in the country over at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. According to the British media outlet, Mirror, and multiple sources, Barker will remain hospitalized until further notice. The acclaimed drummer will in addition continue to be monitored by doctors for extreme stomach pain. Before Barker’s admission, it was revealed that the drummer could ‘barely walk’.
In an update to this story, on social media via Instagram, Travis Barker has shared an update which read the following.
“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But After dinner, I developed excruciating pain and has been hospitalized ever since. During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis. I am so very, very grateful that with the intensive treatment I am currently much better.
In other news concerning Blink-182, actress Margot Robbie who will be playing Barbie in the upcoming film of the same name recently discussed how Blink-182’s ‘All The Small Things was the first single that she bought. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 21, 2023, and she will be co-starring alongside ‘The Big Short’ actor, Ryan Gosling, who is starring as Ken. She would describe this to be during a self-described ‘heavy metal phase’, an interesting choice of words considering Blink-182 isn’t Blink-182 isn’t technically ‘heavy metal’. One would assume she meant, a ‘rock phase’. Regardless, credit to Far Out Magazine for the below.
“I think the first album I bought was AFI’s Sing the Sorrow. I was in a bit of a heavy metal phase. But I think the first single I bought was Blink 182 ‘All the Small Things.”
This heavy metal phase was an abiding one. “I had a real like heavy metal phase,” she once explained. “I was like 14 and I dyed my hair black, and I cut it with a razor blade and I’d only wear like band shirts and go listen to the heaviest of heavy metal. It was a really weird phase, but like Silverstein and Bullet for My Valentine and bands like that”.
