Wipes, an Allentown-PA based noise rock and sludge trio, are going to blow you away with their debut full-length, Making Friends. Check out the first single from the album, “Summer.”
Wipes are an offshoot of the band Tile, who have been blasting eardrums for well over 10 years. When Tile’s guitarist began taking on more adult responsibilities and had less time to devote to the band remaining members Ray Gurz (bass, vocals) and Michael Dumoff (drums) began jamming with guitarist Matt Molchany, who had already been a longtime friend and fan of the band.
Thus, Wipes were born and started putting out music, including a limited edition, lathe-cut seven-inch via Limited Appeal records. The album was recorded late 2021, early 2022 at Shards Studio. The result, out through Hex Records, is the noisy, misanthropic soundtrack to the summer.
