Production has begun on The Pitt Season 2.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill, the Max Original drama series films on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, with exteriors shot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The first set photo of season 2 features Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch and Ken Kirby as Dr. John Shen. Dr. Robby has his jacket on and is likely coming into work early in the morning to replace Dr. Shen, the night shift senior attending.

What is The Pitt Season 2 about?
The logline reads, “The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”
The Pitt’s format follows Dr. Robby, the chief attending physician, during his 15-hour shift at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room. Season 1 consisted of 15 episodes, each representing one hour of the shift.
The Pitt Season 2 will implement the same format and depict Dr. Robby’s shift over a Fourth of July weekend. The story will pick up 10 months after the Season 1 finale.
The Pitt’s ensemble stars Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, and Shabana Azeez.
The Pitt is produced by John Wells Production and Warner Bros. Television. Executive producers include Gemmill, Wyle, John Wells, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontown, and Simran Baidwan.
The Pitt Season 1 garnered significant critical acclaim from critics and fans. The show has a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Pitt is expected to be a major Emmy contender, with Wyle as one of the frontrunners for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
The Pitt Season 2 will premiere in January 2026. Season 1 is now streaming on Max.
