Jason “Blackball” McLean, also known as “keep em seperated guy” is seemingly very close with the band, The Offspring, and Josh Freese. It was revealed that Josh was not longer touring with The Offspring on their fan page:
“yeah I’ve been telling Dexter for the last month or so to say something, and Josh is, and will always be a great and dear friend. The jest is, Offspring really needs someone who can commit full time and Josh couldn’t. Brandon is 100% on board and fully committed to Offspring….”
Also adding that:
“it’ll all make sense in due time. And I really wish I could say more about it but unfortunately I can’t. I can say Josh is extremely talented and has a tremendous amount of other things going on which kinda prevent him to tour/dedicate his full time with offspring. Brandon has been looking for a more stable gig and is super cool and extremely talented as well, so it’s a super great fit.”
When fans speculated that meant Josh Freese was joining the Foo Fighters he responded with a lips sealed emoji.
Meanwhile, Ilan Rubin recently took to his Instagram account and shared the poster of Danny Elfman movie which is set to release soon. He also said that he is excited to be a part of the project, fueling speculation of Josh Freese joining Foo Fighters as well.
It has been noted that Josh Freese has been playing drums for Danny Elfman for a while now. Now, Ilan Rubin has taken the gig, which means more availability for Josh as Foo Fighters’ new drummer. More than ever it seems like he will be busy with the Foos.
Foo Fighters had celebrated Taylor Hawkins’ memory and music at a special gig in London on Saturday, September 3 last year. Hawkins, the band’s drummer since 1997, died in Bogotá, Colombia on March 25 last year. He was 50 years old. Foo Fighters performed for a couple of hours at Wembley Stadium for a special tribute show for the late band drummer Taylor Hawkins. ‘The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts’ also took place at LA’s Kia Forum on September 27.
