The soundtrack of “The Beast Inside” composed and performed by composer Couture Randy Edelman takes us from the depths of the abyss of the regions of hell to a most breathtaking holy dwelling and parallel realm of which it’s splendor cannot even begin to be comprehended. Words to describe Randy’s music fall short. A soundtrack is the most important aspect that can transform a simple film into something amazing. The soundtrack is an integral part of the plot and is often referred to as the soul of the movie.
Randy Edelman cleverly cemented a potent pseudo-romantic link between the music and the occult. Using Gregorian chants, pounding drums, suspenseful bassoons and gentle and extravagant piano arrangements to create this inspirational triumph. In “The Beast Inside” the music at its very heart is about the experience of sound evoking the emotions of the film, and this movie is riddled with layers of terror, excitement, and sentiment.
Directed by Jim Towns and produced by See You Next Tuesday Films, The Beast Inside traces the sequence Anne portrayed by Sadie Katz, (Wrong Turn 6) in her quest to rid herself of a family inherited demon threatening to kill her and then move on to her young son. The unique facet of this film is it explores the possibilities of self-exorcism. Other starring cast members include Vernon Wells (Mad Max), and Laurene Landon (Airplane).
Randy Edelman is responsible for creating the music for some of the biggest and most popular films of our times including “Last of the Mohicans”, “My Cousin Vinny”, “Dragonheart”, “While You Were Sleeping”, “Ghostbusters ll”, “Billy Madison”, “The Mummy 3”, “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story”, and over 100 others. He is also one of the greatest pop artists and song writers having composed “A Weekend In New England” recorded by Barry Manilow, “Isn’t it a Shame”, recorded by Patti LaBelle, “My Place”, recorded by hip-hop superstar Nelly, and again many others.
At the very height of his powers “The Beast Inside” is one of Randy’s most dynamic, compelling, and beautiful orchestrations. In addition to the musical transcription is his newest hit song “Pretty Girls” reoccurring in the film and included in the soundtrack soon to be released. The song makes the spirit sing and has all the bellowing banners that makes a song able to be remembered and the excitement that causes people to wade into the serpentine without giving it a second thought.
The movie leaves us with a rap written and performed by Miles Long called coincidently “The Beast Inside.” The rhyme portrays the destruction of the visitor from a realm other than ours…The Beast. Humanity is fragile and sometimes there are nights so dark that the dawn is merely beyond our imagination. Sometimes people cannot name what scares them the most……
