Tamar Braxton has been forced to record a new album after the previously-recorded one mysteriously disappeared.
The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter confirmed the news on Instagram on Saturday (Sept. 3) evening after reflecting on the ninth anniversary of her sophomore album, Love & War.
Braxton wrote, “Trust me putting out new music hasn’t been easy for me- although an ENTIRE project was ready and then vanished into thin air 👀.”
She asked her loyal fan base, the Tamartians, to sit tight as she restarted another album’s writing and recording process.
“I want you all to be just a little bit more patient while I start over, put my heart and soul into my new found feelings, finally feeling free enough to sing about the old ones and create new, better, memories with you all,” Braxton shared.
She added, “I’m counting on your inspiration to make this next album magic All over again✨.”
Braxton has been teasing a Bluebird of Happiness follow-up for some time, sharing details about two new albums in June 2021 to Entertainment Tonight’s Brice Sander. “I’ve said this before, this is my best work yet, but this is my best Tamar yet, so therefore this is my super best work yet,” she expressed.
“This is me living in my truth, being this new Tamar, this newfound relationship with myself, and I’m really loving the music that’s coming out of me now.”
Braxton originally planned to quit recording albums following the release of 2017’s Bluebird of Happiness. “There’s a lot of things that are going on in my relationship and me being close to this music industry, and whatever I can do to eliminate all of the stress and problems off of my relationship, I would rather do that,” she shared previously in a 2017 ET interview.
Since then, Braxton returned to the studio and released new music. In March 2020, she shared “Crazy Kind of Love,” the first offering from the film True to The Game II, in which she starred. The Whitney Houston-inspired song reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in September 2020.
Braxton will celebrate her hit album Love & War and her other subsequent releases when she hits the road this fall. Tonight (Sept. 4), she joins Fantasia at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit, Michigan, as a special guest.
Then, she’s booked for several concerts in October, including a handful featuring Monica and Tevin Campbell as performers. Get more information on Braxton’s upcoming show appearances here.
