R&B singer SiR has teamed up with rapper D Smoke for a new bop titled “Work Hard Play Hard.”
Arriving just in time for the summer season, “Work Hard Play Hard” is a fresh anthem that hears the SiR and D Smoke celebrating the fruits of their labor — and they encourage everyone else to do the same.
The breezy tune should prompt listeners to evaluate their work-life balance to ensure they are making time to relax and unwind without any sense of guilt.
“We work (work), work (work), work for the days off / Make time to lay up / Ain’t worried ’bout what anybody says,” SiR sings over a laid-back production.
The two real-life brothers have collaborated in the past on songs such as “Lights On,” “Closer to God,” “You Ain’t Ready” and “Let Go.”
“Work Hard Play Hard” is SiR’s second musical release this year following his appearance on the Creed III soundtrack.
In 2022, he dropped three singles: “Satisfaction,” “Life Is Good” featuring Scribz Riley and “Nothing Even Matters.” The latter track peaked at No. 9 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marked SiR’s first top 10 hit on the airplay chart.
All three songs are expected to appear on SiR’s upcoming third album, which will release on Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records. It does not have a release date at this time.
“It’s going to be enlightening and tell a side of my life that people haven’t heard yet. So many things have changed with me. It’s going to be nice to reintroduce myself to the world and my fans,” SiR told Rated R&B regarding his highly-awaited album in a 2022 interview.
