Sarantos updates soul with the ambient washes of “Believe in YourSELF”. A nice mixture of the tactile and the electronic there is a bliss to be found within the sound. Lyrically the song lives in hope. Full of a sunny disposition the rest of the band quickly gets behind the sheer tenor of his vocals. He sings each line with such assured confidence. Percussion here features a nice emotional cadence about it for it makes sure to hold absolutely nothing back. Evolution of the track happens with a great patience to it. Keyboard vamps weave themselves together with the rest of the song, for they incorporate nice dashes of color into the proceedings.
The song starts up with a grand sweep. His voice quickly comes in for it serves as the very anchor for the entire experience. Evolution of the groove results in a living, breathing quality to the work. So much light pours out of the piece for it truly touches the heart. Melodies waft on through, thanks in part to the wonderful chords that he chooses. Never overdone there is a bit of beauty to the simplicity that he brings into the fray. Done with such dignity the song has a happiness to it, one that is unabashedly cheery. From the biggest to smallest detail it is the sort of song that deserves to be surrendered to.
