Rising singer Angelica Bias returns after a two-year hiatus with a new feel-good single, “No Lames In The VIP.”
She co-wrote the track with her husband, Josh Bias, who co-produced it with Jeremy Green.
Accompanied by smooth guitar licks and chorus-style vocals in the background, Angelica provides ladies with a new anthem with this bluesy carefree bop about self-worth.
With soulful and melodic vocals, Angelica exudes confidence as she sings about knowing her value and avoiding those who aren’t worthy of her time or space.
Angelica’s new single takes its inspiration from a true story.
“The original concept for ‘No Lames In The VIP’ came from a conversation I had with Josh about a friend and a situation she was going through,” she explains.
“Her boo at the time was lame, and she needed to kick him out of her life. Since we were so close with her, we talked about the situation, and Josh started writing the first verse and the hook. We co-wrote the remainder of the song together.”
“No Lames In The VIP” is accompanied by a video directed by Josh and Cedd Colyer.
In the video, Angelica gathers on the southside of Atlanta, showing good vibes as she dances and laughs with those near and dear.
Angelica’s new single is her first release as a lead performer since releasing the Josh Bias-assisted “Quarantine Boo” in April 2020. The latter song was shared shortly after “You on You (The Way You Do),” which Henny Tha Bizness produced.
In late 2020, Angelica released a seasonal EP titled Christmas Feelin’.
On a personal note, Angelica and Josh are expecting a baby girl. She revealed the news in a beautiful Instagram post on Nov. 18, 2022.
“All I know is that we’re in a place, experiencing a reality that I wasn’t sure we’d get to. But God, is incredible. We are so grateful, we’re finally allowing ourselves to feel the excitement for this pregnancy, and we can’t wait to hold our baby girl in our arms next April,” she wrote on Instagram.
