Alpha Hugo Releases Two Dramatically Different Tracks With Videos To Match – ‘Go Crazy’ Outlines His Life As A Rap Artist While ‘Cancer Symptoms’ Examines The Battle Of His Life With Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Even as young as 10 years old, Alpha Hugo knew his future lay in music. The rap artist, who was born in Hyde Park, Cincinnati, and grew up near Atlanta, he certainly has the grind and determination to succeed, and make a name for himself in the business.

Alpha’s parents ensured his musical tastes were varied, with his mother listening to country and pop music, while his father favoured rap and reggae. Nowadays, Alpha listens to the likes of Drake, Future, Roddy Ricch, Adele, Luke Combs, Lewis Capaldi, among many others. He’s also learning from the modern greats, and realises the value in his fanbase, demonstrating openness and sincerity with each release and forging genuine interactions that go beyond his music. Alpha Hugo’s ultimate goal is to make people feel real emotions through his music, and he has a natural talent for fostering this bond and garnering support and appreciation for his creative work.

In the video for ‘Go Crazy’, we see Alpha Hugo hanging out by the pool, surrounded by beautiful women, swimming, and lounging about in their bikinis. The verses in the track are filled with details of his extravagant life as a rapper on the rise, and we see all the trappings of fortune, such as the big shiny watch, diamond chains, champagne, cars, and the money. The ladies are attracted to all this – and him too – and want him to “get crazy” with them. Thrumming rhythms and a dynamic instrumental underscore his lightning speed bars, spat out fast and furiously. It’s a fun clip and at only 2 and a half minutes long, will have you going straight back to hit replay, and you can watch it below.

The second track, ‘Cancer Symptoms’, sees Alpha Hugo sharing a more personal side. He recently found out that he’d be fighting the battle of his life, when he was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A cancer of the immune system that develops from abnormal B-cells. It causes enlarged lymph nodes without pain in neck, armpits or groin, fever, fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss, and is most common in males aged between 18-35. Still only 21 years old, it ensured that Alpha grew up quickly, and made him realise he still had so much more to live for. Speaking of the diagnosis, he said,

“I made a decision that day. I was like, ‘Look, if I’m going to die, I want the odds to be that I die in front of a microphone.’”

Because of this, he recorded an entire project, including ‘Cancer Symptoms’, showing the world his intention to stay positive, and be victorious through his illness. The track is much more sombre than ‘Go Crazy’, and the clip, directed by THEPICTUREMAN, sees a reflective Alpha Hugo against a plain background and in the studio, singing of his experience, and serving as an example to others, to pay attention to what their bodies are telling them.
