With excessive pandering to nostalgia in media recently, it would be easy enough to confuse Tears For Fears latest tour (accompanied by Garbage) as capitalizing on that. You’d be wrong to assume that however. Tears For Fears latest album (and first in 18 years) The Tipping Point doesn’t rely on memories of the 80s – it can stand on its own. While Tears for Fears have not shied away from the public eye throughout those 18 years, it was rejuvenating to see them debut new music that still struck fans to the core.
At the sold-out Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston on Wednesday night, fans rejoiced in the classics like “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” and the climactic and timely (see: Supreme Court rulings or any newspaper any day) “Shout,” while also sharing a collective somberness during “Rivers of Mercy”. Tears For Fears have proven themselves tried and true for over 40 years and we hope to see them keep coming back in the future. If you haven’t purchased tickets to this tour yet, they can be found here. While the Boston date has come and gone, our photographer Brent captured the elegant night and you can check out his pictures while you stream The Tipping Point below!
