The newest song from composer Randy Edelman, “Birds of Freedom” pierces the veil of time in a sense, metaphorically aligning a beautiful fringe between the temporal and the spiritual world of music. While art is a subjective experience, how we interpret music is extremely personal, even proprietary.
Our lives are soundtracks where we can identify the moment a song becomes the backdrop for emotional support or a diversion that carries us away from the tedious trappings life offers. “Birds of Freedom” offers both those things as well as hope and awareness in a world facing an uncertain future. It speaks to us without telling us how to feel but rather suggesting peace and love as an alternative to a world riddled with war, insensitivity and bad politics.
The song seeps under your skin and into your heart as though it was tickled by God. His music escapes the scope of language, yet it is a universal communication defined by humility and generosity of spirit. It moves you, and it makes a difference. It is a beautiful gift.

Only the most catastrophic storm can silence its song and all we need to do is listen to it.” Birds of Hope have an echo throughout history and have been used as symbols of freedom, hope, spirit, and transition since time immemorial in every culture and era primarily because they can fly to be free. In the words of Randy Edelman “Tender and thoughtful deeds. Not ways of this world. So why on an Earth so blessed. Do so many leave so young? But once in a scattered dream. I saw fields of plenty. Sharing a gift from high. Young hearts won’t die”…and all we need to do is listen….
“Birds of Freedom” will be available on July 12, 2024 on all digital platforms via Tribeca Records and is a prelude to the composers new album “Waltzing On A High Wire” which will be unveiled this fall in its vinyl form.
