Chart-topping rising R&B star Mariah. and Grammy-Award-winning singer-songwriter Raheem DeVaughn performed their latest single, “Hold On Me,” on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The duo did a live, romantic, candle-lit Valentine’s Day performance dressed in white. DeVaughn graced a throne chair with Mariah sitting down beside him.
“Hold On Me,” is a passionate ballad about love and the power that it has, and what it feels like to be in love. The beat itself is slow and sexy, driven by an electric guitar.
Mariah. starts the song off, “Run to you/No need for a charger/When you’re coming through/Give me a few moments/To connect to you.”
Mariah. sounds impressive, showing off the tones of her voice, especially the lows.
The hook says, “You know that love’s/(You know that love’s)/Got a hold on me/(Got a hold on me)/You give every ounce(Give every ounce)/Of energy to me
(Give every ounce, give every ounce).”
DeVaughn touches on how it feels to be around your lover..happy, excited, and feeling at peace, showcasing his signature high falsetto voice and runs.
“I would lay here./Long as I could./Cus it’s never enough time/To lay by your side
Every time you meet me it was bliss.”
Mariah. and DeVaughn give a heartfelt and sexy performance. Harmonizing and showing emotion in their performance.

“Hold On Me,” co-written by Mariah. and DeVaughn, was released via Mariah.’s new label partnership with Hitmakers Music Group and her own label, Breaking Dawne Entertainment. The song already has over 3.5 million streams combined.
