Madonna seems to be in a nostalgic mood lately. Look no further than a post on Monday (Feb. 17) in which the singer hinted that she is gearing up to re-visit one of her most underrated eras. The one-minute video cued to the title track of the title track from her 1994 album Bedtime Stories, finds the pink lingerie-wearing star putting on her makeup and stepping into a pair of black stilettos while the words “Noth Thing” and “Touches” flash on the screen amid close-ups of a painting.
As the title song bubbles up, Madge slips on a pair of fishnet gloves and writes the phrase “Good-Bye!” on her stationary before sliding the note into an envelope she signs with “amore.” The video’s caption reads” “Bedtime Stories Re-release and Vinyl coming soon!” At press time Madonna did not give any further information about when the album will be-released or if it will contain bonus material.
The Bedtime tease comes just a few days after Madonna revealed that she is in the studio working on new music. In some of the snaps posted on Feb. 13, she is recording vocals into a microphone, while in others she is behind a drum kit. Producer Stuart Price also makes a cameo while working in the studio and a few of Madonna’s kids also pop in to check on the progress.
“My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music,” Madonna captioned the snaps. “I can’t wait to share it with you!!” Adding to the excitement, Madonna again teased that she’s working on a follow-up to her Billboard 200-topping 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor; Price worked with her on that album.
“Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission,” she wrote on Instagram in December. “I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025!” She also shared an image with Price on X in December, writing “Confessions of a Dancefloor part 2 ?”
Bedtime Stories was Madonna’s sixth studio album, on which approached love from a softer angle than her previous LP, the sexually charged Erotica. With a more R&B bent, it featured production from Dallas Austin and Babyface, as well as British producer Nellee Hooper (Massive Attack, Soul II Soul). It spawned a pair of Billboard Hot 100 top 3 hits with “Secret” (No. 3) and “Take a Bow” (No. 1). Last year marked the album’s 25th anniversary.
