Gelo and Camâron

Gelo â AKA LiAngelo Ball â is pretty sure he can beat Camâron in both rap and basketball. On Thursday (Jan. 30), during a sit-down with Speedy Morman for â360 with Speedy,â the former Charlotte Hornets player took a swipe at the Dipset legend months after their initial back-and-forth.
âThat donât bother me,â Gelo said of his earlier feud with Camâron, in which the âOh Yeahâ artist joked about him theoretically having to play basketball in China. âI just address it because Iâm not finna get punked for nothing. They donât know me at all.â
âI think I rap colder than him. [In] basketball, [Iâm] colder than them n**gas,â the 26-year-old doubled down. Morman did not exactly disagree, especially considering Geloâs experience on the court. He said, âIâm not going on online like, âIâm better than Camâron,â [but] I feel that way⦠Thatâs their legend, for real. Iâm not disrespecting.â
Funny enough, Gelo’s issues with Camâron began a few months before âTweakerâ took over the internet. The two exchanged shots over the JBA champion hooping overseas instead of following his brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo Ball, into the NBA. âI only know you âcause your fatherâs a great marketer, n**ga. I wouldnât know you if it wasnât for LaVar Ball,â the Harlem rapper said on âIt Is What It Is.â
Earlier in his conversation with Morman, Gelo cleared the air about his rumored $13 million deal with Def Jam Recordings. âI own all my music,â he said. âI told them, âIâm here not for the [games].â You know how music stuff can get, so I really locked in. Weâre not letting it go down that route, and my team helped me put the best thing together.â
âThey said thatâs the best music contract. Donât hate me, bro. Weâre just out here getting it,â Gelo added. When asked if the numbers floating around were true, the Los Angeles native joked that he walked away with at least â10 bucks,â which, knowing him, presumably meant $10 million.
Gelo is scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud California in March, where he will join an already star-studded lineup featuring the likes of Playboi Carti, Sexyy Red and ASAP Rocky, among others. If all goes as planned, fans might get the long-awaited âTweaker (Remix)â before then.
