Acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Kevin Ross releases his new EP, “Love Uptempo Vol. 1” today April 4 via Art Society Music Group (ASMG)/Empire.and one of the singles has already hit the top 20 on the Billboard R&B Radio Charts.
“Love In The Middle,” is a nice, smooth track that sounds like spring or summer with feel-good vibes.
Ross talks about his woman being patient with him, even with his crazy schedule and the two of them being apart. He says she’s the realest because she holds him down through it all- not stressing him out. He knows she could easily replace him, but she doesn’t. She even holds her own-working and taking care of home. Ross wants her to let her hair down while he caters to her.
The hook says,
“hey/(Love in the middle) front and center, babe/(Love in the middle) in the middle/Yeah, yeah, uh”
Ross delivers an effortless performance. It’s really soothing. The song will put you in a calm, relaxed mode. He also puts swag on the track with his delivery.
The fact the track has a bridge and breakdown really gives it that traditional R&B vibe.
The five-track EP is only 12 minutes, but it gives a whole vibe and the name gives you an idea of what to expect- upbeat love songs. One of the tracks, “Spin,” has a Afrobeats vibe, so there’s a good variety of blending R&B, soul, and Afrobeats and memorable hooks.

Ross explains, “This project is much deeper than love…it’s based on time. Time is the most valuable currency we have in this human experience. Time we can kill, times we regret, time well spent, and most times, we are bound to forget. Time is tempo. The question is… at what pace are you living your life?”
“Love In The Middle” was recently perfromed by Ross On The Radar.
