Chen was introduced to many as the anchor of CBS Morning News and a new anchor of CBS This Morning and The Early Show. Prior to this, she worked for a CBS affiliate in New York City.
Since 2000, Chen has also become known for hosting the American version of Big Brother. Many also know her for moderating and co-hosting The Talk from 2010 to 2018, when she left the show.

Thanks to her work, Chen has encountered all sorts of figures. Recently, she opened up about Big Brother alum Mickey Lee, who recently passed away at the age of 35. As previously reported, this came out after it was reported that Lee had endured cardiac arrest multiple times.
Lee previously appeared on Big Brother 27, ultimately placing tenth on the season. Lee’s family announced her passing on Instagram. At the time, it was shared, “With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening.”
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”

Chen shared, “Two months ago, I interviewed Mickey Lee on God 101. That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart, and as an adult, she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive.”
