Actor and TV personality Jerry O’Connell’s recent role as a co-host on The Talk has come to an end with the series airing its last episode. The star has recently teased on what’s next for him. In fact, the actor joked about appearing on one reality show in particular.
Jerry O’Connell Talked About A Show He & His Wife Are Fans Of
O’Connell joined the panel of co-hosts on The Talk back in 2021, replacing Sharon Osbourne. However, the series, which premiered in 2010, announced it would air its last episode towards the end of 2024.
The Talk aired its series finale on December 20, just ahead of the holidays. Its place on the CBS schedule is expected to be filled with the upcoming daytime drama, Beyond the Gates, with old episodes of The Price is Right airing in the interim.
Speaking with Us Weekly, O’Connell talked about his plans for the future. He joked about joining a popular reality series he noted he and his wife Rebecca Romijn are big fans of: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As the star shared, “Maybe I can be the first ‘Real Househusband’ who’s a cast member.” He teased, “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”
That said, O’Connell shared doubts that his wife would be as interested in becoming a cast member. As he explained, “My wife won’t do it. She’s much more private.”
O’Connell and Romijn have been married since 2007. The two have a pair of sixteen-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly.
O’Connell teased the two wouldn’t bring much drama to reality television. The actor noted, “They’re not vaping. And, at least, so I’m told, aren’t ‘getting with’ anybody, so that’s good.”
O’Connell Previously Talked About The Show Back In 2022
Notably, this isn’t the first time O’Connell talked about having an interest in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Back in 2022, he previously told the publication that, “Would I consider it? Yes.”
“I’ll tell you, I really wanted to be a House Husband. Like, I look at Mauricio [Umansky], and Ken Todd [Lisa Vanderpump’s husband] and PK [Kemsley], and I wanna, like, hang out with those guys.”
During the same interview, Romijn also shared concerns about appearing, despite being a fan of the show. When asked about appearing, she admitted, “We’re such fans of the franchise [but] you know, the truth is probably not ‘cause I really would rather talk about them than be one of them.”
“I feel like I would miss out on the gossip part of it. Or I guess, they all gossip when they’re on the show, but I don’t like fighting.”
O’Connell also admitted at the time one reservation he had about appearing on the show, all the while commending one of the series’ stars. As he noted, “If I got booed at Bravocon, I would leave the country.”
“I would be gone. I don’t know if I could handle it, but Lisa Rinna handles it really well.”
