Jeopardy! contestant Drew Goins recently returned to the Jeopardy! stage for the Second Chance Tournament. The journalist from Hawaii has made quite the impression on game show viewers, and many were excited to see him back for another shot at big money and glory.
Based on recent scenes from the game show, not only did Drew Goins win big, but, he also caused quite the firestorm online for his choice of wardrobe. Goins wore a tight-fitting grey turtleneck that showed off his physique, and viewers lost it over this.
Goins Got Some Tips From Game Show Super Champ
Because Drew Goins knew he would have a second chance to win more money on the game show, and potentially win even more than that, he did a lot of prep when it came to studying and researching for his recent appearance, as there was a lot of information to review for potential questions on the show.
In addition to doing his own research, Goins recently opened up about another tip he got from Jeopardy! super champ, James Holzhauer.
Goins revealed: “I also went through and read a bunch of kids’ encyclopedias or children’s atlases, which is a tip from Jeopardy! super champion James Holzhauer, who said that you can make your way through them really quickly, and they’re easy to remember because they have pictures or fun ways to think about things. In most Jeopardy! games, you only need to know the kind of top-level information about something, and kids’ encyclopedias have way more information than you would give them credit for, too.”

It seems this crucial tip from a Jeopardy! super champ paid off big time for Drew Goins. In addition to drawing attention with his wardrobe, he also drew attention for his stellar gameplay, too. This time around on the game show stage, Goins managed to put together an impressive performance when it counted the most.
In his recent appearance on the show, Goins delivered big time. He learned from his previous mistakes and ended up on top. So, all of those tips and studying methods seem to have paid off for him. When he goes back to surfing in Hawaii, he will have more than $36k in winnings, as well as advancing to the Champions Wildcard.
