The Gen V Season 2 trailer has finally dropped, and fans have already started theorizing.
After Season 1 first aired on Prime Video in 2023, the second installment of this spinoff set in The Boys universe is officially premiering on September 17.
Of course, everyone is excited to see the whole Gen V team back together again. But fans are also particularly keen to see what happens with Jordan and Marie.

They’re one of the cutest ‘ships on the show.
Especially after their enemies-to-friends-to-lovers trope, it’s almost impossible not to be obsessed with their dynamic.
Given the way Gen V Season 1 ended, there are numerous directions the show could take with this ship.
Currently, we have only the trailer to work with, so let’s dive into analyzing it.

Marie and Jordan’s Season 1 Love Story
The first time Jordan and Marie meet in Gen V Season 1, they immediately get off on the wrong foot.
For the first half of the season, they frequently butt heads. Most of this stems from their competitiveness.
The turning point is when they first kiss on Gen V Season 1 Episode 4, “The Whole Truth.” Even then, it’s complicated as the kiss happens during a time when their memories are wiped.
However, they eventually work out their feelings for each other.

From then on, their blossoming romance is one of the most entertaining parts of the show.
I loved watching their stolen moments as they unraveled the mysteries of Goldolkin University alongside their friends.
Season 1 concludes with Jordan and Marie’s friends witnessing their kiss, but their relationship status remains ambiguous.
This leaves Season 2 in charge of officially establishing them as a couple, especially in the wake of tragedy.

The Gen V Season 2 Trailer Hints at a New Dynamic
The Season 2 trailer places our beloved supes-in-training under greater pressure than ever. There’s a voiceover of someone telling the Gen V students that they are heroes first, placing a sense of duty on them.
Jordan and Marie are no exceptions to this expectation.
In several trailer scenes, they’re seen fighting side-by-side against some insanely powerful villains.
This suggests that the extreme pressure to deliver in their roles as students will be a theme in their relationship.

Considering that the original tensions around their relationship revolved around their status at school, this could prove to be a significant conflict for them in Gen V Season 2.
The trailer further backs this up by showing scenes of Jordan and Marie in an arena facing each other.
Presumably, they’re being forced to fight each other in front of an audience. From Jordan’s distressed expression, it’s clear they don’t want to fight their crush.
While it may be stressful, it will also be interesting to see how they handle their relationship under all this pressure.

Hopefully, there can be sweet moments of this adorable Gen V ship amid all the angst.
It’s an understatement to say that the wait for Season 2 will feel like forever.
Even though the trailer gave us some peeks into what might happen in the new season, there’s plenty of information that we’ll have to wait for.
Until then, I’ll be patiently waiting to see the return of Marie and Jordan.
