Zain Effendi is a composer who builds worlds through sound. His work “Opening,” a sweeping symphonic-electronic piece created for Disney’s EPCOT: Test Track, earned a GRAMMY® nomination this year alongside the industry’s most celebrated cinematic composers. Released via Walt Disney Records, the piece has topped Amazon charts, reached #1 on the official Walt Disney World playlist, and plays in perpetuity at Disney World — an achievement few composers ever reach.
Beyond Test Track, Effendi’s music scores some of the world’s most immersive destinations, including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disney’s Starcruiser Hotel, and Shanghai Disneyland’s Adventure in Rhythm. Colorado-born and trained at Berklee College of Music and The Boston Conservatory, he operates at the intersection of orchestral tradition, modern electronic sound, and large-scale cultural experiences. At just 23, Effendi was invited by Hans Zimmer to join Remote Control Productions, contributing to landmark films such as The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Transformers, and Kung Fu Panda.
With his work quietly shaping both Hollywood blockbusters and real-world, multi-sensory environments, Zain Effendi stands out as a timely voice for editorial around the GRAMMY® Awards, modern orchestral music, and the future of immersive sound.
