Sludge metal legends Down appear to be officially in the studio, working on their long-overdue follow-up to 2007’s Down III: Over The Under. More details and a release date have yet to be announced.
While the band’s most recent release was the 2014 EP Down IV – Part Two, fans have been anticipating a full-length effort for years to follow up 2007’s Down III: Over The Under.
Recent photos from the studio confirm that the supergroup – featuring vocalist Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera), guitarists Pepper Keenan (Corrosion Of Conformity) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod), and bassist Pat Bruders (Saint Vitus) – have begun tracking new material after months of writing sessions.
Down will join Danzig, Abbath, and the Cro-Mags in March for a West Coast run and are currently also scheduled to appear at Milwaukee Metal Fest in May.
