In celebration of his upcoming concert at First Parish Milton on February 14, 2025 @ 8:00 PM, songwriter, pianist, and film score composer Randy Edelman will guest on the cable show “You’ve Got to Have Art” starring Host Jeffrey Stoodt. The broadcast will air Monday through Thursday at 5pm on the Public Channel (Comcast 9/Astound 13). The interview will run until the end of the month. Jeffrey is also the producer of the concert on Valentine’s Day Eve.
Randy will share his romantic ballads in honor of Valentines Day including “A Weekend In New England” (covered by Barry Manilow), “You” (covered by The Carpenters), “Isn’t It A Shame” (covered by Patti LaBelle and hip-hop artist Nelly), and many others. He will also perform a collection of his film scores including “My Cousin Vinny”, “The Bruce Lee Story”, “Ghostbusters ll”, “Gettysburg”, “Billy Madison”, “While You Were Sleepjng”, “Dragonheart”, the theme from the hit series “MacGyver”, “Last of the Mohicans” (which earned him a Golden Globe nomination), and a parade of others.
Jeffrey Stoodt has been conducting interviews regularly for over a decade with musicians from genres ranging from opera to folk to Americana for The Milton Times. As a musical producer Jeff arranged bookings for fall and spring concerts at the Milton Art Center from 2014 to 2017 and his helmed the Heritage Music Series at the Forbes House Museum in 2024.
Inspired by songwriters including Paul Simon and Don McLean, Jeff also has a passion jazz singing inspired by Frank Sinatra. As a musical performer Jeff hosted “The Great American Songbook” on Milton Local Access where he showcased individual programs, devoted to different music, songwriters, such as Cole Porter, the Gershwin‘s, and Rodgers and Hart. Jeff performs many of these songs along with occasional musical guests.
He now hosts “You’ve Got to Have Art” where he promotes art events in and around Milton Massachusetts. On this show he has conversations with guest such as Eleni Mandell, jazz singer Sheila Jordan and Michael Johnson….and now world-renowned composer Randy Edelman.
