Ciara has announced her new deal with Republic Records and Uptown Records, in partnership with her imprint Beauty Marks Entertainment. She also revealed her new single “Jump” featuring Coast Contra will arrive July 8.
“I am thrilled to partner with Uptown/Republic Records through my own label imprint Beauty Marks Entertainment,” says Ciara. “Wendy and I have been in discussion to work together for some time and the enthusiasm that her and the entire team have expressed over this new project marks an exciting new chapter in my career. I am grateful to be able to continue my mission of making the world dance with a team I admire, who are at the forefront of empowering artists.”
Republic Records Co-President Wendy Goldstein adds, “I’ve been a fan of Ciara forever. Working with her has been a dream, and she’s making some of the most powerful, undeniable, and innovative music of her entire career now. This is an incredible creative chapter for her, and we’re all excited to be part of it.”
Saint Harraway, executive vice president of A&R at Republic Records/Uptown Records, says, “In terms of our generation, Ciara is a G.O.A.T. She’s inspired countless artists and continues to captivate audiences worldwide. It’s an honor to be able to work with her on this next season.”
Ciara’s next single “Jump” will mark her first song release since 2020’s “Rooted” featuring Ester Dean. In December 2020, she released her Al Rich Club Mix of the upbeat track, which fused Baltimore Club music and New Jersey Club music.
In 2019, Ciara independently released her seventh album, Beauty Marks, on Beauty Marks Entertainment. The album features her platinum-selling single “Level Up” and the Kelly Rowland-assisted “Girl Gang.”
Not long after releasing Beauty Marks, Ciara was spotted in the studio with legendary songwriter Diane Warren. “Working on something really special,” Ciara teased on Instagram.
In a 2019 interview with Rated R&B, Warren said fans can “expect something awesome and exciting.” While she didn’t disclose many details, she did confirm that the song they worked on is “not a ballad.”
Ciara recently confirmed that her eighth album is complete. “I’m actually finished with my album, which I’m really excited about,” she told Associated Press. It’s not clear if the mysterious song she worked on with Warren will appear on the album.
The Grammy-winning singer has more than new music brewing. She will star as the adult Nettie in the upcoming Colored Purple musical film. Halle Bailey of Chloe x Halle will play a younger version of Nettie.
“Honored to be a part of this beautiful ensemble and historic film, The Color Purple. Truly grateful,” Ciara tweeted.
The Color Purple is scheduled to premiere Dec. 20, 2023.
