R&B newcomer Cameera has released her debut single “Self Love (Don’t Take It Personal)” featuring Endia Monè.
On the Monica-influenced track, Cameera sends a reminder that it’s okay to practice self-care, no matter if you’re in a relationship or single. Everyone deserves a little “me time” and those who are around you shouldn’t feel some type of way about it.
Cameera sings in the first verse: “I just wanna chill / Don’t wanna think about work at all / I’ll be in my house / Y’all can go out if you want / All I need is Stella / Music that’s a good vibe / All I need is my phone DND / And that’s a good time.”
Speaking on her new single, Cameera tells Rated R&B, “I’m very excited for my single ‘Self Love’ because it is a call to action. Self-care and appropriate self-love is a much-needed practice. It allows the self-carer to recharge and be a better person for the world and their immediate surroundings.”
She adds, “The song reminds us that in everyday life it is important to just dedicate at least one thing or one specific time out the week to do activities which make you happy!
The line ‘don’t take it personal’ is assurance that while I’m doing what’s best for me, nothing is meant for the detriment of you or us. In other words, this ‘Self Love’ time actually adds value to you.”
