Released on May 5, ‘Are You Lost’ is the fresh single from NIKKI. The sleekly immersive track is the first from this artist who hails from Melbourne, Australia, and it examines themes of past relationships, exploring the memories and experiences created with someone who was once a very special person.
Bittersweet and yet wholly relatable, ‘Are You Lost’ is both raw and authentic, with the listener engulfed in a gorgeously melodic soundscape of piano and gentle instrumentation. NIKKI’s vocals are lush and emphatic, driven by pure emotion.
Speaking of the song, the artist said,
“I think this song flowed naturally from my past experiences… I just started strumming on the guitar a few months ago and the words just spilled from my mind onto my notebook page.”
NIKKI has been transfixed by the music industry since she was a child, starting out as a drummer, carefully curating her skills during high school, where she gained important experience, and added piano and guitar to her repertoire. In 2022 during lockdown NIKKI began putting more effort into her online presence, and started self-recording, and posting drum covers online. From there she raised an audience and was offered a partnership with a Melbourne-based drumstick label.
Nikki’s dream however was always to write and producer her own music, so during this time of “enforced” isolation she took that step, with the result being her new single, ‘Are You Lost’, just being the first of many.
“I can honestly say that I wake up each morning these days with a smile on my face… I feel like I’ve found my true passion and where I belong.”
