Architects’ “deep fake” is glitchy catharsis
Architects have returned with another preview of their new album, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit. Their latest single “deep fake” is a continuation of the industrial elements heard in “tear gas,” with the band pairing synths against explosive guitars. It’s a type of heavy that feels incredibly sleek as the band take their sound in another exciting direction. The record is out Oct. 21 via Epitaph. Listen below. —Neville Hardman
DNCE go on a nostalgia trip with a cover of Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean”
For all of the nostalgia fans out there, DNCE decided to put a stripped-down spin on Hilary Duff‘s iconic track (and Laguna Beach theme song) “Come Clean” on TikTok. Joe Jonas’ vibrato during the chorus gave us the same chills that Duff standing in the rain did back in 2004. —Ilana Kaplan

YUNGBLUD reflects on lessons learned from the Cure
YUNGBLUD has another new track out today, and this time he’s nodding to the Cure. His latest single “Tissues” samples “Close to Me,” from their 1985 record The Head on the Door. “I put on eyeliner because of Robert Smith,” YUNGBLUD tells Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “They taught me conforming was death. When I would put on the Cure, I’d celebrate the idea that nobody wanted to talk to me.” Check it out below. —Neville Hardman
