Congratulations on the release of your latest single, ‘Fantastic.’ What was the inspiration behind the single?
Thank you! Fantastic is all about celebrating confidence and beauty. It tells the story of a woman with a stunning body, a captivating smile, and an energy that lights up the room. The song is packed with infectious beats and a melody that pulls you in, making it impossible not to move. I wanted to create something that feels vibrant, fun, and full of life—something that makes people feel fantastic when they hear it!”
What main message or emotion do you hope listeners will take from ‘Fantastic?’
With Fantastic, I want listeners to feel pure energy, confidence, and joy. It’s a song that celebrates beauty, fun, and the irresistible power of good vibes. I hope when people hear it, they feel uplifted, empowered, and ready to hit the dance floor. It’s all about embracing your best self and enjoying the moment!”
‘Fantastic’ is taken from your debut album ‘Blessed Boy’ which accumulated 3 million streams within two weeks of its release and hit #2 on the iTunes Nigeria Chart. Did you anticipate this amazing response?
Honestly, I was blown away by the response! I knew Blessed Boy was special, and I put my heart and soul into it, but seeing it hit 3 million streams in just two weeks and climb to #2 on the iTunes Nigeria Chart was incredible. It’s a dream come true, and I’m so grateful to my fans for embracing the music. Their love and support mean everything to me, and it just motivates me to keep creating and pushing my sound even further.
How does ‘Blessed Boy’ reflect your musical journey so far?
Blessed Boy is a reflection of my journey—my growth, struggles, and victories. Every track tells a piece of my story, from where I started to where I am now. I even have two tracks with ‘Blessings’ in the title because that’s exactly how I feel about my career and life. Songs like Kuron Be completely changed my career, opening doors I never imagined. I wanted this album to be about me and my talent, which is why I kept it personal and had only one featured track. It’s a celebration of hard work, faith, and the belief that anything is possible with dedication. I’m grateful that people connect with it.
Do you have a particular favourite track on the album, and why?
Honestly its pretty hard to say i would say it changes every few weeks! Right now, FANTASTIC is my favourite track.
What did you learn from the recording process for ‘Blessed Boy?
Recording Blessed Boy was a huge learning experience for me. I learned the importance of patience and perfection – making sure every beat, melody, and lyric truly represented my vision. I also discovered more about my sound and versatility, experimenting with different styles while staying true to my roots. Working mostly solo on the album taught me discipline and confidence in my artistry. It also reinforced how much I love storytelling through music. Every session was a chance to grow, and I came out of it even more inspired and motivated for what’s next!”
You’re becoming a big name in the Afrobeats scene. What artists within the genre are you currently loving at the moment?
Thank you! It’s amazing to be part of the Afrobeats movement. Right now, I’m really loving artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Rema—they’re constantly pushing the sound to new levels. I also have a lot of respect for Tems and Ayra Starr; their vibes are unique, and they bring something fresh to the genre. Afrobeats is in such an exciting place right now, and I’m just grateful to be part of its growth!”
Blessed Boy is more than an album – it’s a heartfelt celebration of life’s journey, embracing the delicate balance of blessings and daily struggles. Why is it important to express gratitude for both ups and downs?
Life is a journey filled with highs and lows, and I believe both are essential for growth. Blessed Boy is more than just an album—it’s a reflection of my experiences, the blessings I’ve received, and the challenges that shaped me. Expressing gratitude for both the ups and downs is important because struggles make the victories even sweeter. They teach resilience, strength, and appreciation for every moment. Without the tough times, we wouldn’t fully understand the value of our blessings. That’s the message I wanted to share—no matter what, keep pushing, stay grateful, and embrace the journey
Lastly, what’s next for you? Any upcoming releases on the horizon?
There’s so much more to come! I’m already working on new music, and I can’t wait to share it with my fans. I have some exciting collaborations in the works and a few surprises that I know people will love. More visuals, more performances, and definitely more vibes! Blessed Boy was just the beginning, and I’m ready to take things to the next level. Stay tuned—big things are on the way. Also an exclusive that i haven’t shared anywhere is we are currently working on a deluxe album as well we would see sometime before the summer.
