Aerosmith have postponed their farewell tour for at least a month due to a vocal injury sustained by frontman Steven Tyler.
“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler said in a statement released on Monday. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”
Aersomith have postponed shows scheduled in Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Raleigh, and Washington, DC. New dates have already been rescheduled in January and February 2024. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
The band had only played three dates of the tour thus far, having kicked the outing off on September 2nd in Philadelphia.
As of now, the tour is set to resume in Tampa on October 11th. Tickets for the band’s remaining shows can be purchased here.
