Last night in the trendy neighborhood of Echo Park in LA, alternative-rock artist DE’WAYNE hosted a truly spectacular release party for his sophomore album, MY FAVORITE BLUE JEANS. Upon arrival, guests were quickly surprised with an immersive and interactive experience once inside the impressive 20ft Bear Studios where the event took place. For the party, guests were asked to bring their favorite pair of jeans, as the streetwear powerhouse MARKET was on-site to do free custom embroideries using a series of heat press machines and a vast array of custom patches that reflected the aesthetic and spirit around DE’WAYNE’s new album.
Once guests received their custom jeans, they could head inside the venue to be treated to complimentary cocktails courtesy of Sailor Jerry spirits as well as food from the beloved Los Angeles pizza institution Fresh Brothers. The energy in the room was electric and palpable, with guests dancing along to a DJ set from Mike Fishkin (idobi radio) inside of the venue’s main room. The space featured a series of compelling modern graffiti art murals and a step-and-repeat photo backdrop provided by AP for guests to have candid photos taken by prominent music photographer Jawn Rocha.

While DE’WAYNE may seem larger than life onstage and on record with his high-energy music, his success didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it’s been six long years of hard work and determination after making the move to Los Angeles from his hometown of Houston, Texas. To celebrate DE’WAYNE’s well-deserved achievements, several of his closest musical peers came out to show their support, including WILLOW, Chase Atlantic, grandson, Ryan Seaman (iDKHOW), Dylan “Funny Man” Alvarez (Hollywood Undead), Carlie Hanson and Zeph, among many others.
Once the clock struck 8:30 p.m., DE’WAYNE, who is as humble as they come, took the microphone to thank each and every person in the room and offered a touching poem that he wrote the following morning ahead of the release party. DE’WAYNE then played his new album MY FAVORITE BLUE JEANS in its entirety to the delight of everyone in the room. As each track blasted through the speakers, you couldn’t help but feel the power of community and people coming together through the sheer magnitude of the music.
MY FAVORITE BLUE JEANS is out now via Hopeless Records.
