Originally from Baltimore, but now based in Atlanta, Sachet D’Aun is fast shaking up the music industry with her certified baddie rap style. No less so than with her new single, ‘Patty Cake’ which is fresh and confident and allows her personality and rapping skills shine.
Inspired by Lil Wayne,. Sachet’s passion for rapping started when she freestyled with friends as a child. Despite this, she didn’t consider rapping seriously until about three years ago, when a recording session she did with her daughter’s father changed all that. She landed a deal with Ethika Music based on her first single, and ever since then she’s been demanding the respect she deserves in the male-dominated rap world, and building a future for herself and her three daughters. Sachet D’Aun brings with her all the confidence, and she knows full well she’s got the talent and drive to truly make a name for herself. She’s a star on the rise, and she’s only just begun. Watch out!
New single, ‘Patty Cake’ is unswerving in terms of confidence as Sachet shows off her rapping prowess in this stripped back production. The game she’s playing is anything but the children’s nursery rhyme, as she flaunts everything she’s got and spits bars effortlessly over a trap beat that is as alluring as she is. Sachet is chasing that lavish life, and this is exemplified in the accompanying music video, which amplifies the sultry atmosphere of the song and raises it to an energetic, visually striking experience. The clip shows Sachet and her girls serving looks that are as hot and steamy as the syrupy pancakes they’re presenting.
As visually stimulating as the bright colours and the background scenery is, all eyes are on Sachet, who grips the viewer from the very first scene. It’s her world, and we’re just players in it.
