Valentine’s Day delivered a welcome distraction this year with the debut of Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/actor Eric Benét‘s second video from his hit EP Duets — “So Distracted” with Chanté Moore. Directed by Michael Rainin, the visuals show two of R&B’s best serenading each other while swapping sappy embraces and loving gazes. Oozing amorous passion their mutual infatuation is infectious. “So Distracted” has consistently been at the top of the R&B charts and Mediabase since it dropped in August 2024.
“Eric and I have been promising each other that we’d find the right song to do for the longest time,” Moore explains. “When he played me the track for “So Distracted”, I jumped up and said, THIS IS IT!! I love this song, I love singing with Eric, and I love that we have this special release on Valentine’s Day.”
After nearly a ten-year recording hiatus, the first single off “Duets,” “Something To Make Love To” with Tamar Braxton hit #1 on the Billboard R&B chart after its release in June. “Duets” features the crème de la crème of female artists, including Ledisi (“Right Time”), LaTocha (“Work It Out”), and Corinne Bailey Rae (“Fly Away”).
The “Spend My Life With You” crooner will premiere a new album this spring. Catch him on the R&B Invitation Tour with Joe and Musiq Soulchild, which recently added dates Richmond, VA (Altria Theater), Baltimore, MD (The Lyric Baltimore), Cleveland, OH (Playhouse Square), Buffalo, NY (Shea’s PAC) and Chicago, IL (Arie Crown Theatre)/
