Rising R&B sensation TA Thomas has released his new single “Preach.”
The divine track, written by Lucky Daye, finds TA enraptured by his love interest’s allure while confessing his willingness to surrender to temptation.
“How’d you get that body to preach? / Let it speak to me, baby / Like it does in my dreams / Oh, I need a witness / The choir’s with me,” TA croons in the chorus.
“Preach” was produced by Camper, with additional writing support from TA Thomas and Mike “Hunnid” McGregor. The passionate tune follows 2024’s “Angry” and “Risky,” which both dropped in the summer.
All three songs will appear on TA’s upcoming project, The Southern Soul EP, releasing this year via Def Jam Recordings.
“This Southern Soul EP is really me paying homage to home,” the Mississippi native tells Rated R&B.
The EP, his first solo project under a major label, will follow his independently released EP, Caught Between 2 Worlds.
The latter project, released in 2022, was produced entirely by Camper, who is known for his work with R&B stars like Brandy, H.E.R., Tamar Braxton, Coco Jones, Ro James and many more.
Before embarking on his solo career, TA Thomas was a member of the now-dissolved Next Town Down.
The group released their debut EP, Juliet, via RCA Records in 2019. The project included the 6LACK-assisted “Easy” plus features from Rich The Kid and Calboy.
Following his exit from the group, TA Thomas co-wrote “Talm’ Bout” from Chris Brown‘s Grammy-nominated album Breezy (Deluxe).
