Nashville’s Eastside Bowl was packed on Saturday as The Get Up Kids took the stage for a sold-out show, continuing the U.S. leg of their 25th anniversary tour for Something to Write Home About. The influential 1999 album, which helped shape the emo and pop-punk scenes, has been cited as an inspiration for bands like Fall Out Boy and The Wonder Years.
This latest run of shows comes after the band first kicked off the anniversary tour last year, bringing their seminal record to fans across the globe. Now, they’re back for another round of U.S. dates, proving that their music still resonates just as powerfully decades later. The crowd sang every word to the album’s tracks, immersing themselves in a night of nostalgia and high-energy performance. Adding to the nostagia of the era, they were joined by fellow 90’s emo/indie act Hot Rod Circuit.
