Rising R&B singer October London’s current single “Back to Your Place” is No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart for a fourth consecutive week.
“Back to Your Place” is second to the legendary Babyface’s “As a Matter of Fact” for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay this year. “As a Matter of Fact” spent five weeks atop the chart beginning mid-July. (The song remains in the top 10 this week at No. 9.)
Circling back to London’s retro soul hit, the song appears on the following Billboard charts dates for Sept. 16, 2023:
- R&B Digital Song Sales, No. 8 (No. 7 peak)
- R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, No. 10 (peak position)
- Hot R&B Songs, No. 11 (peak position)
- R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales, No. 23 (No. 17 peak)

“Back to Your Place” is also leading at R&B radio. During the tracking week of Sept. 3-9, the song received 2,377 spins with 10.9 million audience impressions.
“Back to Your Place” is lifted from London’s debut album, The Rebirth of Marvin, released in February via Death Row Records.
As the album title suggests, The Rebirth of Marvin is heavily inspired by Marvin Gaye. The album includes London’s other popular tracks, such as “Mulholland Drive” featuring Snoop Dogg and LaToiya Williams and “Make Me Wanna.” Both tracks have over one million streams on Spotify.
In 2017, Rated R&B spotlighted London as part of its Rated Next campaign, which highlighted emerging acts that had the potential to make a musical impact.
In an exclusive interview with Rated R&B, London shared the story behind connecting with Snoop Dogg and Jazze Pha and signing to their Cadillac Music label. (Snoop Dogg now owns Death Row Records.) London also discussed his debut EP, Color Blind: Love, also inspired by soul greats like Gaye and Al Green.
