The 8th Annual Black Music Honors is almost here and it promises to be an amazing night that you won’t forget!
This year, the event will be co-hosted by two-time GRAMMY® winner LeToya Luckett and comedy heavyweight DeRay Davis.
The Black Music Honors, produced by Central City Productions, is an annual event that shines a light on the achievements of trailblazing artists who have made a significant impact on African American music.
We are so excited to celebrate this year’s success at an amazing venue – the prestigious Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Ga. on Thursday, May 19!
So, who’s being honored, you ask? We’re talking about hip-hop powerhouse Missy Elliott, R&B vocal trio SWV, the fabulous Evelyn “Champagne” King, soulful crooner Jeffrey Osborne, and gospel legends The Hawkins Family.
Talk about star-studded!
Don Jackson summed it up beautifully when he said: “Black music has always been the life force of our culture and this year’s Black Music Honors honorees truly capture the spirit of American music. “Our show is an incredible opportunity to recognize and celebrate the legendary musical talents that have left a lasting impression on today’s music! Not only will we recognize them, we’ll demonstrate how their music has influenced generations of artists.”
The televised special will premiere on the Stellar Network on June 3 and air on Bounce TV on June 19.
Tickets for the live event will be available tomorrow on Friday, April 21, at www.ticketmaster.com.
